JANUARY
Procession de Reyes 5th January (night) - Procession of the Three Kings. Santa Cruz, Los Cristianos, Puerto de la Cruz, and other main towns.
Día de Reyes 6th January - . Day of the Three Kings. This is when the Canaries give out Christmas presents. National bank holiday.
San Antonio Fiestas in Arona, Buenavista, La Laguna, La Orotava and Los Silos.
San Sebastián Fiestas in Adeje and Los Realejos.
Romería San Antonio Abad Sunday next to the 17th of January, this popular festival takes place in Arona.
Romeria Güímar Last Sunday of the month. Traditional festival with traditional Canarian music.

FEBRUARY
2nd February “Nuestro Señora de Candelaria. Our Lady of Candelaria, religious fiesta.
Carnival This is a moveable fiesta (see inside page ‘Any Year Carnival Schedule) to work out the dates.

MARCH
San José Dia del Padre, Spanish father’s day celebrations.
Easter This is celebrated everywhere but for religious / cultural atmosphere it is best to go to La Orotova, La Laguna, Santa Cruz or Adeje.

APRIL
Fiesta de San Marcos 25th April in Tegueste. First Romeria of the year where the whole island is taking part

MAY
May Day. National fiesta. Celebrations take place in Santa Cruz for the whole month.
Romería de la Virgen de Fátima in Arona.
El dia de Canarias, bank holiday in the Canaries.
Festival of Santa Cruz: people celebrate the foundation of Santa Cruz. People make beautiful flower crosses and celebrate the party with incredible fireworks in Los Realejos and Puerto de La Cruz.

JUNE
Corpus Christi: Carpets of flowers and volcanic earth in La Orotava Tacoronte, La Laguna, Icod de los Vinos, Adeje and other main towns.
St John Fiestas in Puerto de la Cruz, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, San Juan de la Rambla and Arico.
Fiestas de San Pedro, Festival of St. Peter, in Güímar, El Sauzal.
Festival of San Juan: 23rd June people remind of a tradition of the Guanches and clean their goats and other animals in the sea. In El Amparo (Icod) people make huge campfires and decorate them with flowers before lighting them.
Festival of the Holy Pedros: 29th June in Güímar and El Sauzal, traditional dances.

JULY
Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Patron saint of sailors. Fiestas in Los Realejos, Playa San Juan, Puerto de la Cruz, Puerto Santiago, Alcalá, Las Galletas.
Santiago Apostol National Fiesta celebrations of Santiago and Saint Anne in Candeleria, Los Realejos, La Laguna and Santa Cruz.
Festival of the Holy Benito Abad On the second Sunday of the month the most popular Romeria takes place.
Festival of the Holy Carmen 16th of July fishermen celebrate their protector, the Holy Carmen and Sant Elmo in Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz.

AUGUST
Fiestas de la Asunción de la Virgen, Fiesta of the holy virgin, National fiesta.
Second Sunday in August. Romería of San Rocque in Garachico. Festival of international folklore in Los Cristianos.
Corazones de Tejina
Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria (14/15 of August) Festival of patron saint of the island in Candelaria.pilgrims from the whole island meet in the Basilika of Candelaria with different presents for the Virgin of Candelaria.
Romería of the Holy Roque 16th August in Garachico.
Festival to the honour of Jesus Christ: 18th August in Bajamar.
Festival of Hearts: End of August in Tejina.

SEPTEMBER
Fiesta of Our Lady of La Luz in Guia de Isora. Fiestas del Cristo in Tacoronte and in Icod de los Vinos fiestas del Cristo y del Drago
Festival of Socorro 7th September in Güímar.
Festival in honour of the Virgin of the Lights 8th September in Los Silos.
Festival in honour of Jesus Christ in La Laguna 14th September this traditional festival is also celebrated by many young people. Come and enjoy the fireworks.

OCTOBER
1st Sunday in October - Romería de Nuestra Señora de La Encarnación, Adeje.
Dia del Pilar, Dia de la Hispanidad, National fiestas.
Festival in honour of the Virgin Remedios: 25th in Buenavista del Norte.
Festival in honour of the Holy Ursula: Second week of October in Adeje is celebrated with a Romeria

NOVEMBER
Festividad de Todos los Santos, All Saints festival, National holiday.
San Andrés 29/30 of November New wine tasting festival in Icod, La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz

DECEMBER
6th - Aniversario de la Promulgación de la Constitución Española. National holiday.
8th - Fiesta de la Purisima Concepcion. National holiday.
NAVIDAD, CHRISTMAS
Activities celebrated during the Christmas period include. Concerts, nativity plays, switching on the Christmas lights and various other cultural events.

CULTURAL EVENTS
Music Festival of the Canary Islands: (June) One of the most prestigious European classical music festivals with the best performers and orchestras taking part.

Opera Season: (October, November and December) Organised by the Tenerife association of Friends of the Opera.

Sabandeño Festival: (September) Folklore Music Festival with Canary and Foreign groups in La Laguna during the festivities of Christ.
